Description. To reach Flattop's East Face there are two options: Flattop Mountain Approach or Flattop: East Face Approach via the Fern Lake trail. Climb as high as you like; the views only get better. This area is generally safe due to its east-facing aspect and lower angle slope. Enjoy.
