Sickles Avenue – Stony Hill. On the west side of the Wheatfield is the Stony Hill, where Sickles Avenue makes a loop up to the top of the high ground east of the Rose Farm. The National Park Auto Tour follows the Avenue, which is one way west and then northbound. This was one of the most heavily contested areas on the Gettysburg battlefield.
